THE STUDIO
"What makes your heart happy?"
It's one of the phrases my students hear most often when learning about why they enjoy music or a certain song. Something about your journey with music has brought you to take this step and invest in your instrument. My goal as your voice teacher is honor whatever that reason might be.
My teaching is based on a thorough knowledge of voice science, years of professional onstage experience, and a great, great respect for the human being singing in front of me. My studio is a safe space for all students of varying ages and skill levels to gain a greater understanding of how their individual voice works. Through technical work & application to repertoire, students in my studio find consistency, balance, sustainability, progress, & I dare say, a lot of JOY in their singing.

Who & What I Teach
Lessons
A session dedicated to building a strong technical foundation. We will spend time singing through exercises that will address each singers technical goals with hands on tools to encourage new patterns. These exercises and techniques are then directly applied to repertoire within the singers style of choice. Songs are worked through so that the singer will feel secure in their ability to practice on their own and recreate what was achieved during the lesson.
Repertoire Coachings
A session dedicated solely to working on songs in the singers chosen style. This session can be used for song analysis, creating/storytelling an 8-bar, 16-bar, or 32-bar cut, recording piano accompaniment tracks, etc. Great for last minute auditions or working callback material. You can also request a list of up to 20 song recommendations based on your voice or character type.

TESTIMONIALS
"Michelle is one of the best vocal coaches/teachers I have come across. Her education paired with her compassion and love for teaching makes each lesson better than the next. She truly understands my voice, what works for me/what doesn't work for me as a student, and makes me feel comfortable and confident during every lesson. She is one of a kind and I wouldn't be as confident in my voice as I am today without her guidance, support, and coaching. "
- Alyson G. - Long Island, NY
"I cannot say enough positive things about my lessons with Michelle. She has such extensive knowledge on vocal pedagogy and I'm instantly at ease knowing my voice is in the best possible hands. Thanks to Michelle's lessons, I'm accessing all parts of my voice safely and securely. Michelle gives me the tools to access these techniques in my future practice. Having worked in the musical theatre industry in London for the past 7 years, I've had my fair share of singing teachers. None of them are on par with Michelle and her lessons - she's quite simply the best of the best!"
- Aoibhann B. - London, UK
"Michelle Cosentino's voice lessons are phenomenal. Every time I leave a lesson, I feel so overwhelmed with joy. I get so much out of a lesson with Michelle. I learn so much about the voice and fun tips and tricks to sing with ease. Also, she breaks down the acting so well that I'm able to access all my emotions and put it into the song. Michelle never tells me how to act out something instead she gives me words or ideas to help bring out my authentic acting, so it's not forced or fake. It's also been extremely helpful that she can create professional piano tracks for any audition or performance. Finally, Michelle is so much fun to have a lesson with! We are always laughing and having a great time. The lessons I have with her are truly the highlights of my week!"

"Michelle has both a well rounded understanding of my mixed- soprano voice from a vocal pedagogy perspective as well as an easy, friendly, and approachable demeanor that comes from her experience as a performer. Her vocal warm ups are efficient and thorough, her feedback is insightful, and I always know that I will be met with an honest ear!"
